morning window and my morning voice

by Amber on June 22, 2009

in happies,One Life to Live,thanksgiving

in my morning window These things I don’t want to forget.

This stage of motherhood is so physically exhausting.

The complaints breed if I give them voice.

These things I do not want to forget.

It is sweet here.

A recovering magnolia uncurls new leaves outside my kitchen window.

We have kumquats.

We have banana nut bread.

We have daisies by the fish pond.

Vegetables grow in our garden.

Butter is in the bell.

The one red strawberry tastes like summer and sugar

and a secret from the birds.

It is right to voice thanks today.

“The complaints breed if I give them voice.” oh so true!
It is so good to choose the way of gratitude, allowing the feeling of it to follow instead of demanding it up front. I so appreciate this reminder!
Now, I’m off to taste a half dozen rosy red helpings of sugar and summer…
