Within a few days of each other, I received two packages in the mail: one with this beautiful bracelet and one with this sassy bag. I felt so beautifully accessorized that I had to tweet a photo to say thank you to two creative dear ones.
Because I’m from Alabama, my language is pocked with country verbage. There are names for things in the South that get in your brain and come out at the craziest times. I tell you this to explain why it took me at least 5 minutes to find the amazing bracelet maker on twitter.
I typed “@thevintagesquirrel” over and over, trying many different spellings for squirrel.
Then it dawned on me the depths of my ridiculousness. The Vintage Squirrel reminded me of a restaurant back home half way down the mountain toward Goose Pond. The beautiful name of the jewelry brand is The Vintage Pearl.
It’s an honest mistake, and I do love a good rhyme. (Forgive me, Erin!)
Our capacity to do much with little feels like its brimming. God’s kindness is overwhelming. The To-DO List is breeding. Comedy is necessary here in the rock house. Taking it back to the Friday Funny days, tell me what comic relief you’ve had lately. Just like the olden days, I’ll link to any funny post you give us to read. Come on with some of that good heart medicine.

18 hour plane rides always leave me feeling like my brain’s been abducted by a squirrel. Does that count? Here’s the post http://thegypsymama.com/2009/05/19/on-the-go/
My two-year-old is the most mischievous piece of joy I’ve ever met. She makes me laugh on a daily (if not minute-by-minute) basis. She also keeps me on my toes. I am never bored.

my 2 1/2 year old, a swim suit edition, donation shamrocks and moral stand failure. I like this funny Friday on Monday business Amber! I usually need more of a laugh on Mondays anyway!
My blog co-author, Jen, wrote today about her Spring Forward mishaps and a good April Fool’s family fun idea. I can’t wait to fool my kids (and my man) with a little “mashed potatoes” ice cream! Ha!

I had to confess the error of my ways when those evil ‘Thin Mint’ Girl Scout cookies started calling my name. http://www.lifecoachingforchristianwomen.com/2010/03/09/my-girl-scout-cookie-binge/
This one is from a while back. It involves Christmas decorations, my 4 year old and a dead mouse.

“The To-DO List is breeding.” Perfect poetic punchline there, Amber. Nice to see you smile.
Here are a few recent funnies from my Pip:
I’m not sure which strikes me as funnier–the fact that you messed up pearl and squirrel or that there is an actual restaurant with the word squirrel in.
My laugh out loud funny for the week came courtesy of my daughter. I was trying to help her with her backpack and she did NOT want help. She shot a glare at me, pointed her finger, and said, “NO MOMMY! Dat is NOT appwopwiate!”
Hearing such a big word come out of such little mouth just cracked me up.
This post is a couple of months old, but the irony is that I could post it at least once a week – at least the dirty house part. A dirty house and travel plans, sigh.
Enjoy, and thanks for the funnies!

The other day I wanted to tweet about something I saw on a talk show but I ALWAYS get her name wrong. I searched Twitter for Helen Hunt and ALMOST @’ed her until I realized she doesn’t have a talk show. It’s Helen Keller? No. Bonnie Hunt.
After all that, I didn’t feel like twittering about it anymore.

Amber, I just love real life humor. My husband just posted a conversation with my son that took place this morning: Love to an 8 year Old

I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried…and one that didn’t make it into the post was my 4 yr old asking me if I’d ever been a slave…
