Share the Beauty

The above video hardly does Emily Wierenga justice. I would have re-recorded it over and over if it weren’t for the children she mentioned hanging on all sides. I adore her, her words, her tender way of seeing the world broken and how she loves it.

Her family struggles now, her mother-in-law battling breast cancer. She runs this Sunday on her mother-in-law’s behalf, a race for the cure.

The struggle is real for so many of us, and even as Emily prepared to run this race, her doctor found a lump in her own right breast. Some struggles become Tangible. A mammogram on Monday will tell whether Emily’s lump is benign or not.

Would you please pray for Emily and for her mother-in-law?

Would you consider donating even a few dollars for Emily’s race tomorrow?

Thank you, friends. This community of bloggers is nothing if we can’t reach through the screen in tangible ways when the opportunity comes. Reaching through, the skin-to-skin of life here on earth, it is beautiful, worth running for and worth saying aloud with the mouth.

Your voice makes me smile. Emily’s story makes me bleed.

Thank-you for sharing, I hadn’t made it over to her blog yet for this week’s edition of Imperfect Prose.

“What if I find nothing but moonlight?”

“Then you will have found the reflection of a reflection.”

~ attributed to Chopin and Delacroix

I wandered earlier along the lines of these words and then along the lines of your reading. Sometimes this is all we can be for others … the reflection of a reflection.

Your accent, Emily’s writing and bam. I’m on the floor. Wow. (Praying, of course, and praising God it was benign.)

I just got here by accident and I am so delighted with the video. I wish that I can help Emily with her struggles. I understand how difficult it is to suffer breast cancer, my Aunt suffer it too. I pray that Emily and her mother in law will be strong as they fight the battle for breast cancer.
