What I Wore Wednesday and A Noonday Earrings Giveaway

When it’s time to do What I Wore Wednesdays, I have to say that it thrills me. Getting dressed is one of those things we can do. No matter what kind of day we know we’re going to have or what chains you’re working to pull off, we can dressed in the morning and feel a little bit more like a person.

I bought this bamboo shirt at a local boutique shop for $30, and I’m pretty sure they didn’t know what they had. It’s the softest thing I have, it keeps it’s shape, and it hides mine, not that there’s anything wrong with it. There’s just something really comfy about leaving room for imagination and being able to dance underneath something while nobody would even know I’m doing it.

These boots are how I settled after Konrad the Comrade (that dog) ate TWO pair of my boots. He’s just a puppy. What woman with 4 boys adopts a puppy? A woman who is going to be a wearing a cute pair of boots, that’s who. This photo doesn’t do glory. I love a hard edge on every outfit I wear, and motorcycle boots do it. They slip on and make me sound like I’m bringing the thunder, and a woman with 4 boys and a dog needs thunder.

My girlfriend, Corrie, gifted me this gorgeous necklace. She and I, we have Ethiopia in common, she with her daughter home now, and I with my heart always there in a place called Kidmia. You haven’t seen me write much about it, because I can hardly stand it. Often I cry while I vacuum. I can’t explain it.

When Corrie told me this necklace was made from upcycled metal and artillery found in an Ethiopian field and hammered together by victims of HIV/AIDS, I was overwhelmed, how art is made of such. This necklace is so well-made and heavy against my heart. How many women across the world are in chains?

Noonday Collection is a company that advocates for the orphan by:

“Providing jobs that create a pathway out of poverty for families. A stable income means a family is less likely to abandon their child.

Help families raise money for their own adoptions. We give 10% of trunk show sales directly to the adoptive family when they host a trunk show.

Aside from donating 10% towards qualified adoptive families, Noonday Collection also gives towards orphan care and prevention.”

I’ve seen so many of these products from all over the world, and the quality well surpasses most of what I’ve seen in local boutiques. I’m so honored to be able to offer to you these gorgeous Ribbon Earrings from India as a gift from Corrie.

Sometimes we see the chains of others, and there is something we can do. Especially if we’re buying jewelry anyway, I’m so pleased that we can do it in a beautiful way that supports widows and orphans across the world. Please remember Corrie at Noonday Collection when you do your Christmas shopping this year.

Please enter with rafflecopter to win those gorgeous ribbon earrings! Good luck, and thank you always for coming here to spend time with me.

There’s a freedom I hear about that I just don’t always recognize in my life. I long to be free so much that maybe I’ve built a habit of feigning it. I would love it if you would like to join me in exploring this path to true freedom, A Study of Chains in 31 Days. You can follow along on Facebook or subscribe to these posts by email or in a reader. {Thank you so much, by the way, for walking with me.} Are you ready to shirk these chains?
Also, psssst! I switched feed and email providers, so subscribe to the new stuff above if that’s how you do!
